Je suis arrivé en France

Day 2

Today is my first full day in France. I arrived yesterday in Aubagne around 15H00. It is so beautiful here in France, I have already taken so many pictures from the airport to my house. I notice a lot of little things such as the first animal I saw in France was a bunny rabbit!!My room, or Alyssa's old room, is on the second floor of the house so I have an amazing view of the mountains. The mountains here aren't like the Sierra Nevadas, they are kind of rocky.I really love it here because there is so much green, it's very pretty. It's also very humid here so my hair is going crazy and I honestly don't care! Haha. I can easily summarize how I feel right now: exhausted!! Last night I slept about 14hours! And still I could go for a nap right now, but I have to stay awake. I really hope they don't think I am shy, I promise I'm not. It will just take me a while to get used to the time change, also, translating is very tiring. I can't wait to be able to understand everything instead of just staring at people as they speak to each other. Today I met a lot of people.
Today my host mom, Catherine, and I walked around downtown. I took some beautiful pictures because I am so amazed by everything. It's great because downtown is very close to where we live so we can easily walk there. She showed me where the library is, my high school, and the cinema.Tonight we went to a picnic on the beach of La Ciotat and I had my first dinner in France. It was very good especially the tart that Catherine made. I am so lucky that she is such a great chef!I got to meet my host brother, Mike, his friend, Alyssa's father, and many of Catherine's friends. I convinced Mike and his friend to play guitar for the group and they were good! They played songs that I knew by Green Day and Jimmy Eat World. Also they gave me some good advice for school. I start school at Lycee Saint Marie next week and I am a little nervous but they assured me it would be okay. I'm so excited about this year, I know it will be amazing :)
